GSEHD alumna Melvina Noel, Ed.D.’00, has published a book titled “Chef Edna: Queen of Southern Cooking, Edna Lewis.” Noel’s work is a warm and inviting picture book portrait of African American culinary legend Edna Lewis. The chef grew up in Freetown, Virginia and carried her roots to New York, where she became a celebrated chef who could infuse traditional French food into her signature Southern style.
The book features color illustrations by Caldecott-honor recipient Cozbi A. Cabrera.
