Giving Tuesday

The university will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping events. #GivingTuesday starts the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

“Let’s kick off the season of giving together,” said Donna Arbide, vice president for development and alumni relations. “Show your pride in this community and your commitment to our students by making a gift to any area of GW today—-it's as easy as designating 1 percent of your salary through payroll deduction. Whatever you choose to support, you're making a difference in the lives of our students."

Past gifts made on #GivingTuesday have strengthened student aid, specific colleges and schools, athletics, research, student life and GW Libraries.

“As an engineer, most of my courses and workload involve science, math and technology, so I try to stay well-rounded through my extracurricular activities,” said Daniela Rendon, class of 2019, who is on an intramural soccer team, tutors student athletes and serves as secretary of the Biomedical Engineering Society. “Donor support allows me to focus on my studies and my other activities to set me up for future success.”

Philanthropy completes the picture for the student experience, which becomes bolder and brighter thanks to donors’ generosity. Consider making a gift to support GW students.
