'George Washington Bench' Debuts
The “George Washington Bench,” a bronze statue depicting the first U.S. president and university namesake sitting on a bench, was installed Monday on Kogan Plaza on the George Washington University Foggy Bottom Campus. The statue is the work of sculptor Gary Lee Price of Utah, who has thousands of sculptures in public and private collections around the world. GW Trustee Mark R. Shenkman, M.B.A. '67, provided funding for the work of art. The Luther W. Brady Art Gallery is sponsoring a “selfie” contest for the most creative photograph taken with the sculpture.
