George, the George Washington University mascot, joined thousands of Washington Capitals fans at the victory parade to celebrate the team's 2018 Stanley Cup Championship. Dressed in red, Caps fans lined the streets of downtown D.C. for the 11 a.m. parade. The championship is the team's first in its 44-year history and Washington, D.C.'s, first major professional sports title since its NFL team won the Super Bowl in 1992. George traded high fives with fans and waved signs emblazoned with "ALL CAPS" as nearly 50 vehicles carrying Caps players, city officials and several long-time fans in the parade headed east along Constitution Avenue after starting near the Foggy Bottom Campus.
