An anonymous donor has given the Elliott School of International Affairs more than $3 million to support research and policy engagement.
“This extraordinary gift will secure GW’s Elliott School of International Affairs’ place as a global leader in the study of several of the most important issues facing humanity in the 21st century,” says Michael E. Brown, dean of the Elliott School.
GW President Steven Knapp said he is “deeply grateful” for the “generous gift.”
“It will enhance the school’s significant contributions to George Washington’s efforts to address many of the world’s most pressing challenges,” he said.
The gift, which provides nearly $3.2 million over three years, will fund faculty and student research, new courses and special events and conferences hosted by the school’s Institute for International Economic Policy, Institute for Security and Conflict Studies and Global Gender Initiative.
The gift will also help create four new associate director positions at the school’s research institutes and will expand the school’s Web Video Initiative, which uploads videos of key events at the school on its website.
