Their research spans the origins of mankind to the search for life in the universe, the strength of building materials to the strength of public policy, the mechanics of business to the clash of nations, and all things in between. Now there is a blog to put a spotlight on the work of GW’s faculty and student researchers.

The university’s official research blog, called Untrodden Ground, launched in mid-August and features research findings and news from across the university.

“The scope and quality of research by GW faculty in all the schools and colleges is one of our major strengths,” said Leo Chalupa, GW’s vice president for research. “This blog provides an outstanding means for communicating this fact to our community and the outside world.”

The blog’s name borrows from a letter written by George Washington in 1790, shortly after he became president of the fledgling nation. “In our progress towards political happiness my station is new; and, if I may use the expression,” he wrote, “I walk on untrodden ground.”
