Harris Mylonas, an associate professor of political science and international affairs at the George Washington University, has been elected a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Founded in 1921, CFR is a nonpartisan, independent organization dedicated to informing U.S. engagement with the world. Its membership includes more than 5,000 prominent leaders in foreign policy, including top government officials, scholars, business executives, journalists and legal experts.
As a CFR member, Mylonas joins a distinguished group of individuals committed to advancing policy-relevant ideas, expert analysis and public discussion on critical global issues. The organization also publishes Foreign Affairs and convenes high-level conversations between scholars and policymakers.
At GW, Mylonas teaches undergraduate courses on nationalism, patriotism and European integration, as well as graduate courses on nation-building in the Balkans, qualitative research methods and nationalism. His election to CFR reflects both his scholarly expertise and contributions to international policy discourse.
