A special ribbon-cutting ceremony and a prize giveaway for students on Tuesday marked the grand reopening of the revamped District House dining hall on George Washington University’s Foggy Bottom campus.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the dining space is available to the entire GW community via GWorld tap access. An $8 meal deal includes an entrée, side and drink from a variety of options. Vendors include True Burger, Halal Shack, D.C. Taco House, Crisp and DH Pizza & Pasta Co. Workers walked around with samples for students during Tuesday’s event.
In addition to the plethora of cuisine options, technology upgrades are meant to enhance the dining experience at the District House dining hall. Customers can enter their phone numbers into any of the central kiosks and receive a text confirmation once their meal is ready. Order ahead options are also available on Boost Mobile, which can be downloaded under Boost App on Android or iOS in the app store or by texting BOOST to 99299.
“There's a lot of hard work and a lot of effort that went into redesigning the space to maximize the student experience,” Executive Director of GW Dining Services Douglas Frazier said to student patrons at Tuesday’s ceremony. “There are way too many people to list that worked hard to make this happen for you.”
A few of those people joined Frazier in grabbing some extra-large blue scissors to cut the buff-colored ribbon, including Provost Christopher Alan Bracey, Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer Sharon Reich Paulsen and Associate Vice President of Business Services Seth Weinshel.
