Members of the Class of 2025 are invited to register themselves and their guests for Commencement Week events, including Commencement on the National Mall on Sunday, May 18, a treasured #OnlyatGW tradition. Registration instructions for students are available on the Commencement website.
This year, graduates have an opportunity to select either an AI-generated recording of their name or provide a phonetic spelling and recorded audio version. If they decide not to use the AI-generated file, a vocalist will use that information to dub an audio file of their name that will be played as they cross the stage at their school celebration. Graduates will have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, April 18, to approve or record their names.
From April 19-23, members of the Class of 2025 may continue to register for Commencement Week events, but they will not be able to review the AI-generated file or record their name; the AI-generated file will be used at their school celebration. Class of 2025 registration closes on Wednesday, April 23.
Members of the faculty are also invited to march in the academic procession at Commencement and participate in school and college Commencement Week events. Faculty should complete registration via this link by Friday, May 2. Registration instructions for faculty are available on the Commencement website.
