The George Washington University women's lacrosse team held a successful Colonial Harvest Friday, bringing in donations of money and food for about 50 local families. Visitors including Anne LeBlanc and GW mascot George stopped by the sixth annual daylong drive.

"Thanks to the generosity of the GW community we collected over $4000, 48 Thanksgiving baskets, 52 turkeys and over 300 pounds of food," the team wrote on Instagram.

The team will hand-deliver baskets of food and personal items to families associated with St. Rita's Catholic Church in Alexandria, Va. Remaining non-perishable goods will be donated to The Store, GW’s food pantry for students, and to the Foggy Bottom Food Pantry.
