CCAS Student Awarded SMART Scholarship

Shani Glassberg, a junior studying Biology, was a recipient of a Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship from the Department of Defense (DOD) as part of the 2024 cohort. 

The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master's and doctoral students pursuing a STEM degree. Scholarship recipients receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships and guaranteed employment with the DOD after graduation. Glassberg will be working at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory after graduating from GW.
