Can you do better than Ruffles Hall?

President Steven Knapp and senior staff have issued a challenge to the GW community: Come up with a name for the university’s newest residence hall.

The #HistoryLivesHere Residence Hall Naming Contest is an opportunity for members of the GW community to leave their mark on GW, and the university will accept submissions until Feb. 23 at 11:59 p.m.

GW community members can submit an unlimited number of entries. A panel of faculty, staff, students, alumni and parents will choose five finalists that best represent GW, its namesake George Washington, and the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.

On March 16, members of the GW community will have the opportunity to vote for one of the five finalists and to win prizes.

The grand-prize winner will have his or her residence hall name grace the new building and will win a 13-inch MacBook Air. The four other finalists will receive a $100 gift certificate. Voters will also be chosen at random to win a $50 gift certificate.

Full contest details are available on the #HistoryLivesHere webpage.
