The Dust Bowl Discussion & Highlight Screening

Join filmmaker Ken Burns, Dust Bowl survivor Cal Crabill, National Geographic senior editor Peter Miller and CBS News national correspondent Jim Axelrod for a discussion about the worst man-made ecological disaster in U.S. history and the parallels to contemporary weather events. The evening features a highlight screening of The Dust Bowl, the latest film from America’s storyteller Ken Burns. The Dust Bowl — premiering November 18-19 on WETA TV 26 and PBS nationwide — chronicles the environmental catastrophe that, throughout the 1930s, unleashed a pattern of massive, deadly dust storms that for many seemed to herald the end of the world.
