To the George Washington University Community:

During the last several months, I have had the opportunity to meet many of you—the motivated students, dedicated faculty and staff, engaged alumni and supportive parents who are at the core of this incredible university. My wife, Anne, and I have been grateful for your warm welcome.

It is clear that GW is a special place—a world-class university with the power to transform the lives of so many. In the heart of our nation’s capital and founded on the vision of our country’s first president, it is an intellectual hub for scholarship, research and debate, offering unparalleled opportunities for our students to learn and develop as global citizens. Anne and I are thankful to be part of this vibrant community and tremendously excited for the opportunities ahead.

As I begin my time as president, and as we prepare for the start of a new academic year, I look forward to meeting many more of you and spending a lot of time listening to and learning from each of you. Together we will build on the excellence of this historic and distinguished university.

Raise High.

Sincerely,
Tom LeBlanc
