The George Washington University Counseling Center will offer additional hours to provide support services to members of the university community coping with the death of a student reported on Tuesday.

Counselors will be on site in Eckles Library, located on the Mount Vernon Campus, to assist students over the weekend. Office hours will run from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday

Members of the university community are encouraged to pursue support services in light of the recent tragedy. An appointment is not required to speak with a counselor.

The UCC, located in Suite 330 at 2033 K St., will also continue to operate during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Those who require assistance beyond working hours can speak with a counselor by calling the 24-hour hotline at 202-994-5300 and following the automated menu.

Faculty and staff who wish to consult with a UCC staff member should call during business hours and fill out a CARE form.
