The University Counseling Center will continue to offer counseling services on the Foggy Bottom Campus to eligible students during the summer semester.

The center, located in Suite 330 at 2033 K Street, NW, will operate during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walk-in hours will be held between noon and 4 p.m.

The summer schedule will run from May 19 to Aug. 25.

Eligible students include undergraduate and graduate students who were enrolled in the spring 2014 semester and are registered or intend to register for the fall semester of the upcoming academic year.

To maintain eligibility, students must either be completing one credit of coursework during the summer semester, living on campus in a residence hall or be employed on campus by GW.

Students who were enrolled in the spring semester and are continuing their studies through the summer but are not registered for courses during the fall are also eligible.

Those who wish to be assigned to a counselor should call or visit the UCC for a brief initial assessment with a staff member.

“Our goal is to serve the student body,” UCC Director Silvestro Weisner said. “If a student is concerned about whether he or she is eligible for services, please call or visit the office for consultation.”

“Our staff is available to refer you to community resources,” Dr. Weisner said.

Students who require assistance beyond working hours can speak with a counselor by calling the 24-hour hotline at 202-994-5300 and following the automated menu.

Faculty and staff who wish to consult with a UCC staff member to discuss concerns about a student should call during business hours and fill out a CARE form.
