A Tragic Loss

April 14, 2011

The university is mourning the death of a student on campus.

An undergraduate student died yesterday in the City Hall residence hall.  There is no indication that the death was the result of a criminal act.

“On behalf of the entire university community, I would like to express our sorrow and extend my condolences to the student's family and friends,” said President Steven Knapp.

The university has been in contact with the student’s parents.

Members of the George Washington community affected by this tragedy can contact the University Counseling Center at 202-994-5300 or http://gwired.gwu.edu/counsel.
