The conference will provide an opportunity for policy makers, scholars, and databases developers emphasizing entrepreneurship and business creation to share current issues and the latest advances. The conference has four main components: a database fair with a full day of opportunities for informal discussions with database originators; keynote speakers, panels, and workshops on the latest policy issues; presentation of scholarly work on business creation; and training sessions on important data sets. 

In addition to George Washington University, the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence and the International Council for Small Business, the conference has sponsorship from a variety of institutions including the World Bank/International Finance Corporation and VISA Inc. Small Business.
