The acclaimed director of the “The Hurt Locker” and “Zero Dark Thirty” will speak to the university community in the Jack Morton Auditorium on Oct. 29.

Kathryn Bigelow will discuss her career, women in film, and the choices, themes and issues that have brought her to the forefront of U.S. and world cinema. School of Media and Public Affairs Distinguished Fellow and former senior Pentagon spokesman Doug Wilson will interview Ms. Bigelow, to be followed by a question-and-answer session with audience members.

“I am thrilled for the GW community to interact with such an influential female storyteller,” said SMPA Director Frank Sesno. “Her impressive body of work demonstrates the power of media to create pertinent discussions on the important issues of our times.”

Free tickets for GW students, faculty and staff are available.
