GW Team Wins National Moot Court Competition

A team from GW Law won the 2015 National Moot Court Competition hosted by the New York City Bar Association, defeating a team from Georgetown University in the final round.

A team from GW Law won the 2015 National Moot Court Competition hosted by the New York City Bar Association. Kyle Singhal, a fourth-year student, and Dane Shikman, a second-year student, defeated the University of Southern California and the University of Oklahoma in the preliminary national rounds. They beat Gonzaga, Drake and Wake Forest universities to set up a finals meeting with Georgetown University.
 
Richard Friedman, an adjunct professor and attorney at the Department of Justice, coached the team. The competition is recognized as one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious moot courts in the United States and had 189 teams competing this year.
