GW Safety Expo: Foggy Bottom
Learn important safety information, watch safety demonstrations and receive free food and giveways at the GW Safety Expo in Foggy Bottom. Participants also get to build their own emergency prepardness kit.
As part of the University’s eighth annual GW Safety Expo, AT&T will commemorate “No Text On Board Pledge Day," part of AT&T’s It Can Wait (#ItCanWait) campaign to end the dangerous behavior of texting while driving. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood; Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski; AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson; CSI NY actor Hill Harper; and GW President Steven Knapp will participate in the event, which will feature AT&T’s texting while driving simulator and iPad pledge activations. The simulator mirrors a real texting while driving experience, showing the real dangers and hazards of texting while driving. Program remarks will begin at 2 p.m. Rain location: Marvin Center Grand Ballroom. For more information, email expo@gwu.edu or visit www.campusadvisories.gwu.edu.
