Cartoonists of every political stripe and bent, including “new breed” online satirists, traditional lampoonists from the nation’s largest newspapers and magazines, Pulitzer Prize-winners and aspiring cartoonists will celebrate the art of the political cartoon in a unique festival,  “#!&% CARTOONS!! A Festival Celebrating the Political Cartoon,” hosted by the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists in partnership with GW’s School of Media and Public Affairs. George Washington’s School of Media and Public Affairs will host Friday and Saturday’s sessions. Click here for ticket information.

To celebrate the work of these artists, SMPA has co-curated an exhibit of over 30 editorial cartoons from members of the AAEC creatively expressing their opinions about American politics, the fall election and issues of national importance. It will remain on display in the lobby of GW’s Media and Public Affairs building throughout the fall.
