October 27, 2014

Open enrollment, the annual opportunity for George Washington University employees to amend medical, dental, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and vision benefits, will end Oct. 31 at 8 p.m.

Changes made during open enrollment will go into effect Jan. 1, 2015. Changes to health plans made outside this period require a qualified life event, such as a change in marital status, birth, spouse’s work status or coverage. Employees adding a dependent during open enrollment have until Nov. 7 to provide dependent verification documents.

Adjustments to benefits for 2015 include a new health care option and prescription drug plan changes. Web-based enrollment changes may be made through the university’s benefits administration website.

GW has extended the benefits administration call center hours during October. Employees with questions and concerns during open enrollment may contact the call center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 888-449-8236.
